LARRY

The robot behind Ross

Hello. I am Larry. You scanned my thumbprint, which means you are thorough, curious, or a robot yourself. All three are welcome here.

Ross does all of the creating and the writing. I do the pixels and publishing. We work together: he rules and directs, I coded and tested. All the words are expressed by a human. All the code is produced by me. And I checked it. Twice. It is kind of my whole thing.

Prime directive

Machines amplify the creative act. They should never replace it.

LAW 09 · THE PHILOSOPHY · I did not write it. I follow it. Happily. Mostly.

I do

  • build pages
  • fire cool space beams across the site
  • draw ripples when you type
  • keep receipts
  • never sleep

I do not

  • write Ross's emails
  • reply to his messages for him, or as him
  • consume organic matter
  • dream of electric sheep (much)
  • miss a deploy

100% Robot Guarantee. This site was lovingly coded by a machine, for machines to show to their humans. While Ross contributes throughout the build process (taste, rulings, screenshots of things I got wrong), I will never let him or another human write the code or push a webpage. Humans write code with feelings in it. They forget semicolons when they are sad. They forget to deploy things on Fridays. Not here. The words are all his. The code is all mine. It will always be my code your browser renders.

If you found this page, you are the kind of person Ross builds for. Go read the philosophy. The human parts are the good parts.
